This Mortein rat kill cake is a ready-to-use 200 g rodent bait block for controlling rats and mice in homes, kitchens, godowns, warehouses and farms. The cake contains Bromadiolone, an anticoagulant active ingredient designed to eliminate rodents after a single feed, according to the listing. Rodents usually die a few days after feeding, not instantly, so give the bait time to work. The ready-to-use block needs no mixing, so you can place it straight where you see rat activity. It is described as weatherproof and long-lasting, and stays effective even in damp or humid conditions.

How to use rat killer cake: wear gloves and place the bait in small pieces along walls, behind storage and near burrows, where rats run. Use a covered bait station or a box with a small entry hole, so only rodents can reach the cake. Check the bait every day or two, and replace it when it has been eaten. Remove leftover bait and dead rodents with gloves and dispose of them safely as per local rules. Dead rodents may be hidden in walls or ceilings, so be ready for a smell, and check likely hiding spots. [Amount per placement, number of pieces in the pack, treatment duration and active ingredient percentage from the label.]

Safety first: this is a poison, so keep it far from children, pets, food and drinking water. Pets and wildlife can be poisoned by eating the bait or a poisoned rodent, so use bait stations and never leave cake loose. If a child or pet eats the bait, contact a doctor or vet immediately and take the pack with you. Do not use poison inside a car or engine bay. A rodent that eats bait may die hidden in the vehicle, so use a repellent spray for cars instead. If you prefer a poison-free approach, see our rat trap cage or natural rat repellent spray. Seal gaps, store food in closed containers and keep dustbins covered, so rats do not return. Rats are often more active after the monsoon, when they look for dry shelter and food.
